The League
Program Overview

A Real Football Experience.
A Life-Changing Opportunity.

Join the League™ is a co-ed flag football, mentorship and leadership experience for students in grades K–8. Operation Breakthrough is our home base, with Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City and Special Olympics Missouri expanding access and inclusion. Temple Made Foundation removes cost barriers and coordinates coaching, gear, career exposure, financial literacy and community support.

Football opens the door. Belonging, confidence and opportunity are the goal.

Who We Serve

100+ ATHLETES ENROLLED FOR FALL 2026

Grade divisions: K–2, 3–5 and 6–8
Participants include Operation Breakthrough youth, BBBSKC Bigs and Littles, and inclusive community athletes.
Team identities: Tigers, Wildcats, Hawks and JTLKC All-Stars.
No child is excluded because of cost or support needs.

Meet the Coaches

Consistent adults. Clear roles. One standard.

Current coaching leadership: Tony Temple, Jesse Suydam and Tyron “Coach BW” Bridgewater. Ashten will capture approved headshots during the September 1 social; Jaeden will add each coach’s title, team and grade division as assignments are confirmed.

What Every Athlete Receives

Every athlete receives the gear, coaching and support needed to participate fully.

More Than a Jersey

  • • Team uniform, flag belt and essential gear
    • Weekly coaching, practice and games
    • Try-It-Out career and community experiences
    • Mentorship, family support and season recognition
    • Health and safety support coordinated through Operation Breakthrough and its approved providers

Season Structure

A complete, structured youth football experience:

Fall 2026 • September 8–October 24 Tuesdays: Main practice • 5:30–7:00 PM Thursdays: Try-It-Out + partner experiences • 5:30–7:00 PM Saturdays: Games at Troost Park • 9:00 AM–12:00 PM October 24: Season celebration + partner showcase

Fall 2026 Experience

  • Football gets them in the door. Careers, wellness, money, inclusion and service expand the pathway.

  • • Tuesdays: Main practice, 5:30–7:00 PM
    • Thursdays: Try-It-Out + partner experiences, 5:30–7:00 PM
    • Saturdays: Games + community engagement, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
    • Oct. 24: Season celebration + partner showcase
